    Story

    UPDATE - 27th April 2022

We have now delivered 8 ambulances in total, with another 2 leaving next week to take the total to 10 which are being operated in Ukraine and have attended to many emergency situations. Visit our website or search Ambulances for Ukraine on Facebook to see videos and news updates (including videos of the ambulances doing their thing in Ukraine) - www.ambulancesforukraine.org

Just think that when this started the dream was 3 ambulances... thank you so much to all of you for your generosity and support!

Now we are also desperately trying to source and deliver as many neonatal incubators and related medical supplies as there has been a significant rise in premature births.

So we are asking again for financial support to help us make as big a difference as possible!

As such, we have raised the target to £60,000 and thank you in advance for your support!

Help us to show that "Love is Greater than hate"!

    UPDATE - 23rd March 2022:

WE HAVE COMPLETED OUR FIRST MISSION! 6 ambulances were delivered to our partners Global Outreach Doctors on 17th March 2022. Even better than that we have enough to launch a second mission in April 2022 with at least 4 more ambulances. We have decided to increase our target to get as much as possible for that second convoy so please do donate what you can!

    ORIGINAL MESSAGING - from 1st March 2022:

The images of the wounded and displaced, as a result of the crisis in Ukraine, highlights the need for assistance.

We want to send ambulances stocked with donated supplies to initially help the refugees but ultimately to get the ambulances into Ukraine to help with saving civilian lives.

On this humanitarian mission we need £10,000 to buy, stock and transport each ambulance over to Ukraine to support the men, women and children suffering. Our goal is to get as many to the front line as possible, with an initial target of 3 ambulances.

Every donation helps, from £10 to pay for an emergency blanket for a child forced to leave their home in freezing temperatures to £1,000 to pay for fuel, supplies and transportation costs of getting the ambulance from the UK and into Ukraine to help those who need it most, every penny will be used to help those in need.

No problem if you can't donate , awareness is very important too so please share this campaign.

    So what can we do?

We want to buy as many ambulances as we can and fill them up with as many supplies as we can. Not only do they provide the obvious benefit of helping save lives in Ukraine but they also allow us to transport supplies donated in the UK to the Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

The initial supplies will be distributed to the refugees and then the ambulances will be taken into Ukraine to the places they are needed most.

We want to save lives... and make some refugees lives that little bit better in the process.

Although still firming up the costs associated with buying the ambulances (which is of course impacted by how much is donated) we have already sourced more than I expect we will be able to afford.

We expect the cost of buying 1 ambulance and then getting it to Poland to be around £10,000 (per ambulance).

So for every £10,000 we get (maybe slightly more or slightly less) we can get one more ambulance full of essential supplies to people who really need it.

Give us £1… £5… £10… £1000… whatever you can afford! And if you cannot afford anything then please share the link as you are then contributing by getting others to donate.

How the Money Will be Used:

I have outlined below a tiered system to detail what the money will be used for depending on how much we get.

<£10,000 - as this would be too little to buy even 1 ambulance the money will be forwarded to the "Unicef - Ukraine Appeal"

£10,000 to £19,999 - we will buy at least 1 ambulance and use the remaining money on buying essential medical supplies (we have the full list from the Ukrainian hospitals highlighting what they desperately need and how much of each thing they need)

£20,000 to £29,999 - we will buy at least 2 ambulances and then use remaining moneys as per previous tier

£30,000 - we did it! 3 ambulances stocked and driven to Ukraine

    >£30,000 - for every £10,000 above this tier we will buy another ambulance (there are currently 8 available and on standby for us). If sub £10,000 above this tier we will use the extra for medical supplies etc.

Any money that is left over at the end of the mission will go to the "Unicef - Ukraine Appeal"

    Why are we doing this?

In any warzone things like medical supplies run out very quickly. But supplies only become useful when you can get an injured person to a hospital or medical centre where the supplies can be used... that's where the ambulances come in (they are also really useful in terms of carrying donated supplies long distances).

It is also a given that any major conflict will drive civilians to evacuate causing a refugee crisis... this is clearly apparent with the current Ukraine crisis with many thousands of children, with their mothers and elderly relatives, who have no home and rely on the support of others to keep them safe (both physically and mentally).

On that note, we are worried about the number of Ambulances that are available and the potential loss of life should there not be enough. It is worth noting that most countries will have enough ambulances to cover the normal forecasted requirement in peacetime (often having fewer than needed even for that)... a sudden war means that there will inevitably be far too few (and again they are great for transporting donated supplies long distances meaning we DOUBLE UP on the benefit).

As such, we are calling on you to donate WHATEVER you can so that we can buy as many second hand ambulances here in the UK and then we will drive them, full of donated supplies from the UK to the Polish / Ukrainian border (both medical and for general life; board games and entertainment for the kids being something I am personally keen on taking - think of all those kids who have nothing to do or enjoy right now).

    Why Us?

Having been part of a similar mission in the past it's not something completely new.... I am coordinating with relevant authorities to help us have a smooth journey from UK to Poland, people on the ground in Ukraine to understand what is needed and to organise people to collect the ambulances from the border, local Ukrainian communities here in the UK and of course all of you wonderful people who are prepared to put some money and supplies in our hands so we can execute our plan.

And we are NOT POLITICAL... which gives us the ability to be truly pragmatic in the way we respond and allows us to act quickly and be able to adapt if necessary!

What do we need from you?

We have the team… we have the volunteers… we have the experience and knowhow (well enough at least)…. And we’re putting all the financial resources we can afford.

However, and to put it simply... we need more money to buy more vehicles and supplies. We is always greater than I.

Words are great and your vocal support is needed, but actions are greater.

However, not everyone has the know-how, the connections, the time or the experience to do a mission like this so all we ask, the action that we need from you, is to donate what you can afford.

    What we are not!

A political organisation with a political agenda!

We must emphasise, in no uncertain terms, that there is no political agenda, no political opinion and we will not be drawn into a political narrative.

We are also not a registered charity, NGO or not-for-profit organisation.

We are just normal people who want to help the innocent civilians who went from living a normal life worrying about what they would wear on a first date, or how they would get a work project finished in time, or how they can get a good score in their online game of choice; to now having to figure out how they would survive for one more night.

Thank you in advance for your support!

And with the below / previous update in mind... We have now fulfilled all the active requests from our established strategic partners who have been operating the equipment in Ukraine. As such, we are no longer raising funds for Ambulances for Ukraine but we certainly do encourage you to support other initiatives that strive to make people's lives better; whether that be in Ukraine or elsewhere. Despite all of us having our own problems, without the generosity you have shown to us... there are lives that would have not been saved! Thank you!

To all you wonderful people who supported us on this emotional journey... We initially set out to raise enough for 1 to 3 ambulances... in total we have facilitated: 18 ambulances 8 neo natal incubators 14 mobile defibrillators 4+ Tonnes of Medical Supplies The £46k+ we raised through JustGiving allowed us to buy 4 ambulances and 2 neonatal incubators... the rest was raised from direct donations (circa £200k). With your support, and the support of so many others, we smashed out initial target and lives have, and continue to be, saved.
