Story

Shinejargal has recently been diagnosed with bone cancer (osteosarcoma) on her knee. She lives in Mongolia, where medicine is not advanced. The treatment plan the Hospital proposed was to amputate her leg. We found a clinic abroad that offers a chemotherapy, radiotherapy also a limb sparing surgery with a possibility of successful outcome , but they all cost extortionate amounts of money, our immediate family is trying to help and raise financial support but we are facing quite a big shortfall. The cost of the treatment and the surgery would be around £1500 for 1 session of chemotherapy and she would need at least 9 and further radiotherapy treatments.

Shinejargal is like every young girl dreams to get married and walk down the aisle. She worked hard as a waitress toward her goal to become a nurse.

A few months ago Shinejargal felt severe pain in her knee. We thought the pain may be caused by her work. Shinejargal’s pain got worse day by day, she had to go to the A&E. The doctors diagnosed it as rarest form of bone cancer. The surgeon at the Hospital proposed the amputation to stop the spreading of the Cancer.

She is only 21 years old and she had a really tough upbringing, Shinejargal’s father abandoned her when she was just 2 years old and her mother had to go away to find a job resulting in her being with my grandmother and relatives, she never had a stable place to stay, or to call a home but since my grandmother’s passed away, she tried her best to be independent and try not to burden anybody. We grew up together, but I haven’t seen her for 12 years due to the financial situations of both of us. What with me being in England and her being in Mongolia.

Despite all of this, she continues to remain upbeat, and still tries not to burden people. She spent years looking after the elderly and needy people in the neighbouring villages, and I am trying to do all I can to get help for her.

It is unimaginable to visualise that her dreams shattered as a result of her leg to be amputated when she is so young and there is still a chance to help her to fight Cancer. She is like a sister to me and for me to think I can’t help my little sister is horrible and heart-breaking.

I wish I did not need to resort a crowd funding, but I have no other choice.

Please search your deepest part of your heart and if you can contribute anything toward Shinejargal’s battle with bone cancer.

Thanking you in advance.
