I will be taking a challenge to walk 26+ Miles Marathon from Surrey Hills to Trafalgar Square, London on 02/05/21. I want to raise money to help the internal displaced people in the affected areas due to the Military coup in Myanmar.

On 1 February 2021, the Military coup took place in Myanmar. Since then, the Military have shot and killed more than 700 unarmed peaceful protesters to date, with no indication of this stopping. Victims include dozens of children for simply expressing their desire for Democracy. Some were killed inside their own homes. The military are burning down people's homes, factories and villages, raiding people’s shops and homes to rob and destroy the premises, shooting at the ambulances, beating and arresting the medical staff, and the list goes on. Thousands of innocent citizens are being arbitrarily detained. Also thousands of people, including children and elderly have been forced to flee their home as the Military has continued its air and ground attacks in Karen and Kachin States near Thai and Indian boarders.

I am taking this challenge to raise awareness of what's happening in Myanmar right now and to raise money for those who have lost there homes, who have no food or shelters or access to medical care.

The fund raised will be going to a registered charity called Australia Burma Community Development Network Inc (ABCD Network) based in Sydney. ABCD Network is registered as a charitable non-profit organisation and operating under the Associations Act in Australia. The purpose of ABCD Network is to provide assistance to the communities of the people of Myanmar in the areas of aid, welfare and development.
