I've raised £2000 to help enable a team of four boys from Sidmouth College to build classrooms in Kenya - as work volunteers.

Village communities in southern Kenya have very few of the things we take for granted here in the UK. They often cannot provide proper education for children or even access to clean water. Local wildlife is also endangered. We four kids from Sidmouth College (Sam, George, Jacob and Toby) have the opportunity to make a difference.
We'll travel to Kenya and work as volunteers for one month with an organisation called Camps International. But we need to raise £4,320 each - around £17,200 between the four of us. We're busy working hard to do this and have called our team 'Kids4Kenya'.
On 5th October 2019, we launched our fundraising with an 80 mile cycle ride. We rode the beautiful Devon Coast to Coast route from Barnstaple to Plymouth. But that was just the start. We're each going to ride 1,000 miles by Christmas 2020. We'll be doing other long rides together and we'll also stop begging our parents for lifts!
In Kenya, we'll help build classrooms for village children, enable local communities to gain access to clean water and also work on projects to protect endangered wildlife.
The voluntary work trip is being organised and led by the UK organisation Camps International. When we finish our GCSEs in 2021, we’ll join their experienced and qualified schools expedition team in Southern Kenya. The volunteering trip is supported by Sidmouth College.
Thank you for helping us to make a difference to children and wildlife in Kenya.
