I've raised £2000 to continue the work of Kidz4Kidz Voluntary Theatre Co. so funds can still be raised to help a local 9 year old.

Story

Kidz4kidz is a not-for-profit voluntary group (run by school staff, parents and community volunteers) that had show rehearsals every Sunday for 2-3 hours for the past 19years.

KIDZ 4 KIDZ VIRTUAL SHOW - MILEY HARRIS

Kidz 4 Kidz is a voluntary run, not-for-profit group based in Preston, Lancashire. For the past 19 years they have run weekly rehearsals resulting in children performing 2 large scale shows a year and the profits from the shows going to help a child in need.

This year Kidz 4 Kidz are raising money to help buy a 'Rio Firefly' wheelchair attachment for 9 year old Miley Harris, who lives in Ribbleton, Preston. (see photos to meet the beautiful Miley and to see the wheelchair attachment she needs)

Miley was born 10 weeks prematurely with one functioning kidney. At 2 years old she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy - the doctors' thought she would never be able to sit up, stand, walk or hold a pen. Last year she was diagnosed with epilepsy.

The manual wheelchair Miley uses can tire her out easily, at home she finds it easier to get around by crawling, when she plays in the garden it's on play mats. However Miley's hands and knees are hurting from wanting to keep up with her sisters and she becomes frustrated that she can't play with the other children (when they're allowed to socialise again). She has, heartbreakingly, asked her parents "Why can't I be normal and walk like the other children?".

Miley is a cheerful, intelligent girl. She has asked her parents for a 'Rio Firefly' attachment as she feels this will give her more independence and make her capable of doing more without tiring. Her parents have started fundraising and have raised 25% of the funds they need. However the attachment costs just over £2,000 (without any extras).

Kidz 4 Kidz would normally raise this through their % of ticket sales and extra events, like table top sales or discos.

Obviously lockdown has prevented any of these things happening, so Kidz 4 Kidz are organising a Virtual Show, to be shown on Saturday 11th July 2020. Children are learning choreography through Facebook live lessons and sending their own videos in for editing.

If anyone can support this Virtual Show to help us raise the funds needed for Miley's wheelchair attachment it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Much Love from everyone at Kidz 4 Kidz xx
