My name is Kieran and I suffer from a disability called Friedreich’s Ataxia it’s a debilitating, life-shortening, degenerative neuromuscular disorder. About one in 50,000 people suffer from Friedreich’s Ataxia, I've had this condition for 10years.

For those who know me, you will know that I NEVER ask for money or donations and I very rarely ask for help, but now I'm asking for some help!

I got diagnosed at 16 and I had a back operation and metal rods were put in my back at 16. So in the space of a few years my life had a drastic change, I went to being a normal young lad looking forward to the future to facing massive struggles.

This page is to raise money for a new electric wheelchair that I so desperately need. Electric wheelchairs are not cheap and I need some extra functions that a basic wheelchair does not provide.

The type of electric chair I need will help me be more independent, hopefully help the pain/discomfort I suffer and also increase my quality of life.
All the add ons/extras come at a ridiculous cost, for something which should be provided. I didn't ask for this disability, I just need some help, so I can make the best of a bad situation.

I have bad days, but rarely do I become fed-up! I think in 10years I've dealt with a lot and now I can deal with anything, I will always be here to help people as well. I just don't like being in a wheelchair, it's ruined a lot for me and its also made me gain amazing people in my life, so a more practical chair that helps my needs would help a long way.

I am planning to do a skydive with my support worker, she has supported me a lot and is one of my favourite people I've met in my life, she is always willing to talk and help me if I have any struggles and because of this she is supporting me to raise money. Doing this with her is something I will never forget.
