Story

Rhys Williams is a 17 year old who suffers from epidermolysis bullosa. This is rare genetic skin condition where no collagen 7 is produced. In easy terms his skin falls off. Any knock, bump or friction can cause skin loss creating large open wounds or even blisters that don‘t stop growing. Even a cuddle can cause trauma. His hands and toes have webbed and fused due to wounds that have healed and he’s now wheelchair bound due to his hips fusing. Most days the pain is very intense but despite all this Rhys is a happy boy much of the time.

The life expectancy for someone with epidermolysis bullosa is around 25 years as they have a high chance of developing skin cancer which causes many deaths in people with this condition. Infection and flu also cause many deaths in people with epidermolysis bullosa.

Rhys also had bad news regarding his heart. He has a diseased mitre valve and diseased auota valve which is currently stable but he cannot have surgery to deal with these issues because of the issue of him healing afterwards. At snowflake we have raised money for Rhys on numerous occasions to give him and his family some good times. He's genuinely a lovely lad that deals with so much on a daily basis and doesn't complain. Recently Rhys has been being trolled which upset his mum a lot.

Let's send him and his family on a trip so the trolling has the opposite affect than what they were hoping for!!
