Story
I am running the Manchester Marathon on Sunday, 27th April 2025, to raise funds for Stroke and Pancreatic Cancer research.
In January 2024, I lost my mother-in-law, Cathy, to a stroke. Just two months later, in March, I lost my own mum, Shelagh, to pancreatic cancer. It was a heartbreaking start to the year and I firmly believe that with greater investment in research, these losses might have been prevented. While we can never be certain, increased funding for vital research could spare other families from experiencing the same pain.
My family and I miss Cathy and Shelagh dearly every day. As I run the marathon, I will carry their memory with me every step of the way, knowing that my first thought upon crossing the finish line will be, "I can't wait to tell them what I just did!"
Please support me in raising funds for these two charities so they can continue their essential research, allowing more children, regardless of age, to have more time with their mums.
