In September 2017, we will be heading to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. At 5,895m above sea level, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain on the African continent – couple that with its 50% success rate and the climb is definitely no small challenge (and trust us, having done one practice walk so far, we are well aware of it).

A big motivator for us in taking on this mountain and all its perils has been the opportunity to do some good and raise money for some wonderful charities – that is where you lovely people come in! We’ve set up this page to ask for your support by donating whatever you can.

We will be splitting the funds raised between two amazing charities: the British Red Cross, and Nanapai. Unfortunately, as Nanapai is not a UK-based charity, we were unable to combine fundraising for both causes, meaning we have two separate pages, one for each charity. Of course, any donations you are able to make will be gratefully received, but for those among you with no strong preferences over which charity to support, we encourage you to split your donation between the two!

If the thought of us trudging up a mountain with little to no oxygen and going to the loo outside isn’t quite enough to release those purse strings, we promise your money will be going to a worthy cause. Nanapai is a charity founded and run by successful Maasai community leaders, which uses its funding for local ventures which maintain the Maasai way of life. Ventures include assisting schools whose syllabus respects the traditional values of the Maasai people, healthcare for Maasai villagers, and obtaining water for families forced to leave their homes.
