I've raised £3000 to Help our family make precious memories at this terrible time.

On the 4th June this year our World was turned upside down and it hasn't stopped what started out a normal day ended up with Ethan going to our local A&E department for a eye check up because he was complaining of double vision and then being transferred to RCHT for more test's. Once there they gave Ethan a CT scan the results showed that he had a mass on his brain stem, this news was so shocking for all involved. The next day Ethan was blues and twos all the way to Bristol Children's Hospital for further tests and a treatment plan. After a MRI we were told that Ethan had a very severe and aggressive brain tumour also known as DIPG which there is no cure for only palliative radiotherapy to help prolong the inevitable. Nothing prepares you for this news. We managed to get a weekend at home before a biopsy was needed and whilst the hospital team prepared a plan for us. Once back in Bristol we prepared our family for Ethans biopsy surgery this was the longest four hours of our life, but with our daughter with us we continued to be normal whatever that is.The biopsy surgery was a very dangerous operation but we are thankful for all involved that it went well. Virtually straight away after the biopsy we were told that Ethan would need to start a six week course of intensive radiotherapy and prepare ourselves for some serious side effects which include hair loss, headaches, sickness, nausea, rashes, fatigue and a lot of other things. We are now home & so far we have been lucky with minimal side effects and hopefully can return home to Cornwall on Friday. Since the start of this terrible time I haven't returned to work & James is working when he can.We are trying to raise money to help our family to keep making amazing forever memories that will always be with us. We have learnt that time is so precious and what time we have we need to be together with our children, family and friends with your help we can continue this.
