We are currently caring for over 1000 rescued cats and dogs at our sanctuary in southern Sri Lanka. All of these dogs have had tragic lives and many arrived clinging to life. We give them a second chance. We have many disabled animals that simply would not survive on the streets so we are lifeline to so many. We also feed starving strays in the area. That means we are feeding around 1200 animals EVERY day. These poor souls wait patiently for their only meal. Rice prices have risen in Sri Lanka and we are now paying around £18 per 50 kilo sack. We use around 150 kilos of rice a day as well as fish and vegetables mixed in the food and are really struggling. There are 40 days to Christmas and this appeal is to raise funds for enough rice to feed our animals until Christmas day.
