Story

Anyone that knows Allan Gouldson will know what an amazing man he is, a true inspiration. Diagnosed with MND on 17th June 2014, the prognosis was not good. He was involved in voice banking early on in the expectation he would lose the use of his voice. He remains one of the most interesting, intelligent and articulate people I know. MND is making its presence felt however and Allan recently lost the ability to use his legs and relies on his wonderful wife Kim and a team of carers, to help him be as independent as possible. It causes him real discomfort to sit in the wheelchair for extended periods and this makes those vital trips out which enhance mental health, much more difficult. It is important to Allan to stay as positive as possible however and make as much of a difference as he possibly can. With this in mind he is launching...
Challenge Allan 😁
Starting on 2nd August Allan plans to visit a variety of places which spell out two charities he holds close to his heart. Allan can no longer stay away overnight and so his challenge is limited to Cornwall and Devon.
His causes are: AFR UK (Bude Group) and MND (Cornwall)
He will therefore visit:
Arlington Court
Fingle Bridge
Rosemoor
Upper Tamar Lake
Kernow (mystery tour!)*
&
Merton
Norton Barton Brewery
Dingles
*Allan needs your help on this one. Where in Kernow should he go which is no more than 1 hour from home?
Allan would really appreciate it if you would follow his journey and also pop a few pennies in the pot to encourage him on what will be a real challenge for him
