I've raised £2000 to cover the total cost of 4 years secondary education and contribute to the relief of poverty to children in the Maasai community, Kenya.

A group of 13 Midwifery and Nursing students and lecturers from The University of Central Lancashire will be travelling to the Maasai region of Kenya in April. The aim of the trip is to raise at least £1500 for the Maa Child charity to enable them to fund and support 4 years secondary education to young children from Kenya.
The Key objectives include:
Provide funds for the tuition, equipment and accommodation fees for pupils to attend the secondary education school for up to 4 years.
To contribute to the relief of poverty in the region with advancement of education.
To contribute towards community health/well being programmes and environmental and sustainable projects.
The MaaChild roots are flourishing in the Kenyan soil with the help of our UK.volunteers, the Maasai volunteers and Eco-adventures Ltd. This charity gives strength to the Maasai children to grow, develop and endure the changes afoot over the coming years. The charity has provided free primary education to many children in which have no choice or chance to continue their studies. The aim of MaaChild is to take the brightest children and help them achieve their dreams with an educational bursary by providing 4 years of secondary schooling, a dream for many kids in this part of Kenya.
The Maasai community in Kenya, benefit by children who have the ability but no means to pay for their education or training to progress beyond the entitlement the have to primary education only. By providing secondary education the Maachild students will be able to make a useful contribution to the wider understanding of the issues that their community may face in the coming years in response to development and globalisation. Not only will they be capable to offer an informed critical political voice, the Maachild students will also be competent to represent their community both locally or nationally and ; to contribute financially towards community or social benefits such as teachers, nurses etc.
All students have funded themselves to be part of the trip and all the money in through this page will go directly to the charity for the provision of education to young children.
Any donation, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated! Please share and lets raise money for a wonderful cause.
