Story

Hi, I'm Kimberley. I have a disability called Joint Hypermobility Sydrome. This means that all of my joints are loose, and don't support my body properly. It used to be referred to as being double jointed, meaning I have a lot more movement in a joint compared to others. Due to this though I am susceptable to injuries such as sprains, strains and subluxations and full dislocations.

I was diagnosed with Joint Hypermobility in July of 2017 after a severe allergic reaction that put me in hospital for 5 days where I had a lot of tests, scans and medication. The conditions I had developed were Reactive Arthritis, Hypersensitivity Type 1 and Tachycardia.

This condition causes me chronic pain, chronic fatigue, stiffness, joint instability, cracking of my joints and many more other symptoms.

I currently use crutches or my walking stick to get around, which are perfect for short journeys, but if I'm out for a few hours, I get very exhausted, weak, and in pain, and I am prone to collapsing. I have to rely on my friends and family a lot, which I really appreciate them for.

Having a wheelchair for me would mean I have some more independance. Yes, I may still end up neading help with my mobility, but being able to move around on my own is very important to me.

Please help me raise money. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
