I've raised £3500 to help fund Tommy's large and unexpected vet bill, helping him to have a happier life

It's so nice to know how many people love my dogs, even though most of you have never met them. They really are everything to me, and have helped me through many tough times. I owe them so much.
Most of you know me for the rescue work I do. As you're probably aware, all my animals were unwanted and welcomed to my home. I'm not one to ask for help, but for the first time, I really need help.
I've had a run of bad luck which started at the start of the year, and it's been emotionally draining to say the least. Most of my animals are insured, but a huge vet bill is just round the corner for Tommy and sadly, his insurance won't cover it.
Tommy keeps getting recurring infections which really knock him out for about two weeks at a time. We thought they were a one off, but it seems as soon as he gets over it, another one comes. He has a whole bunch of health issues which makes many routine procedures difficult.
Tommy has really bad teeth, but I have been terrified to allow my vet to clean them as I'm so scared he will die whilst under. As well as infections, Tommy also suffered from a stroke, meaning he had to have hydrotherapy to help build his strength up.
As Tommy's teeth are so bad, our vet referred us to a specialist vet to see what they can do. We had the consult yesterday and she said we need a second specialist vet to assist her, and although the procedure isn't without risk, it would mean he's a lot happier. She looked in his mouth and he has pus coming from a tooth, as well as inflamed gums and some teeth have holes in. It must be painful for him, but he's such a good boy he never complains. The infections are linked to his bad teeth, as was the stroke due to the infection in his mouth entering his blood stream and spreading round his body. The only way to stop this happening is to have his teeth cleaned and many removed.
We have been quoted £3-3.5k to have this done. It costs more than the average dental as I need him to be as safe as possible. It's booked for October time and as this is the healthiest he will ever be, I'm keen to have it done before his health declines again.
If we raise over the target, the money will go towards his ongoing collapsed trachea medication which is no longer covered by his insurance.
If you love Tommy and would like to help, we really need our Tommy Army's support right now. He is my world, and I know he means so much to so many people also.
