Scarborough-based community Swimming Club Kingfishers' Open Water Swimming Team are planning an English Channel relay attempt. My daughter Maddy will be in the team, aged 15. She and her team mates are already training hard in both sea and lakes. This wonderful charitable club is run by volunteers and includes both pool and open water sections. Channel swim attempts are very expensive with safety boats, equipment and accomodation and travel for safety staff. Without support, Kigfishers will not be able to make the attempt. Swimming means so much to Maddy and the team and this attempt would be Maddy's biggest life challenge so far. It would be great if you could help! Thank you xx
