Molly's Story

On the 17th August 2022 at 16:48 Molly made a grand, (albeit premature) entrance into the world. Six weeks earlier than anticipated Molly filled the hearts of her parents with joy to an indescribable magnitude, the final 5lb piece of the puzzle that they had been missing.

However, after a fantastic start to her new life Molly began to show signs that something wasn’t right. All it took was one green sick…

On the 19th August 2022 we took a short trip down a corridor which seemed to increase in distance the more we progressed, as we made our way towards every parent’s nightmare. Neonatal Intensive Care.

Thankfully Molly spent only a short time on the unit being released back to the maternity ward on the night of 21st August 2022.

During that time, we witnessed a level of care, compassion, and empathy towards both families and the little miracles which unfortunately find themselves residing there that is impossible to describe. It is with this effort to raise funds that we hope to be able to provide the staff with equipment, not only for the little miracles they care for, but also for them, as a thank you for the patience, understanding, and support they so willingly and unwaveringly provide. Without these people the story of so many babies on that ward could come to an end before it has even had chance to have a beginning.

What will we be doing?

With the help of Amber Valley Rugby Club on November 19th 2022, we will be attempting to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge within 12 hours as a team of four people, all while carrying a log of roughly 50kg. The route comprises of varying terrain across a 25 mile route with a total ascent of 1585m.
