    Story

What are we raising money for?

At Kingswood Primary Academy we have invested heavily in quality reading materials in the last few years to help foster a love for reading, we now want to improve our library to ensure the reading environment matches the standard of texts.

We want our library to be more than a room to store our books in; we want it to be a relaxing yet immersive space for our children to escape with a good book, we want it to be a welcoming space to continue learning in.

Our long-term fundraising aim is £10,000.

We will use the money to decorate and refurbish our library: buying fixtures and fittings, as well as seating areas to really showcase how much we value reading at KPA.

20% of all that we raise will go the Kingswood Neighbourhood Centre.

At Kingswood Primary Academy, we are immensely proud to serve the community that we do. There is a unique sense of togetherness on the Kingswood estate, one where everyone pulls together to support each other in the best way that they can. Last year we supported the Neighbourhood Centre through our fundraising to reopen a Youth Club. It has been a huge success, providing children with a safe, structured place to go with quality guidance and supervision. Youth Clubs are a safe place to help develop interpersonal skills as well as helping children gain self-confidence and self-esteem. We would like to help fund more week of this vital service.

    How are we raising money?

Staff, children and their families are going to travel the equivalent distance of going from Kingswood to Sydney in Australia. That is a whopping 16,500km.

We will be starting on Monday 28nd February and aim to complete the challenge throughout the month of March.

Participants will be walking, running, cycling, hopping or even skipping the distance. Each day the distances travelled by staff and children at home and at school will be added to a totaliser.

Please help by making a donation, any amount would be greatly appreciated.
