Story
My name's Ross and I am Secretary of Kinross Wheelchair Curling Club (KWCC). I have been part of the Club since 2002 and I'm highly enthusiastic about our Club, its development and longevity. KWCC was founded in 2001, Scotland's initial Wheelchair Curling Club. We have seen many players through the Club over the years with a few participating in local level competitions, through to those who has competed in International and Paralympic events.
Club numbers have fluctuated over the years, but due to a very successful 'Come N Try' at the beginning of last season, Membership is starting to grow.
Any monies raised will support us in a variety of ways:
Helping us to buy new equipment. We use extender poles, which attach to the curling stone, enabling safe delivery from a seated position;
Helping us to subsidize members ice costs each session. Ice costs have risen substantially over the past few years, potentially isolating people with disabilities from taking part;
There are various Wheelchair Curling competitions throughout the season, with varying entry fees. Any funds raised could help subsidize part of some of these entry costs; as well as helping any other costs associated with the Club.
Thanks for your generous support, it is very much appreciated by myself and everyone at KWCC.
Thank you! :-)
