    Story

    "The Kinsmen Regiment..."

About a year ago I created what I wanted to become a movement. An army of protectors helping me to raise money for the military homeless...

My intention. To raise money by doing crazy arse events that should be almost impossible to complete.

and if these events were to be completed, you had to put yourself through Hell to do it...

    And that's all I did.

Literally created an idea which simply sat on the table gathering dust in my mind.

The truth was, my mind telling me "no one will believe in this..." and two, "who the fuck will help you anyway...?"

Recently, I had written. Re-written and written again a short brief.

The words just sat there looking back at me, highlighted and ready to be deleted...

It read. "Up and down Mount Snowdon 16 times in less than 24 hours using more the 5 routes possible?"

Fuck it. With my eyes closed, I didn't expect to get back a response...

Neil Davies, Mountaineer and Ex Royal Marine responded immediately... "No mate probably impossible. I will let you into a plan of mine John. Keep it to yourself though mate, unless we plan the event..."

So I went to the Royal Marine's I knew including blokes I served with in the Parachute Regiment...

I wrote, "Got a never been done possibly impossible challenge if you're up for it? Up and down Mount Snowden. 6 different routes in less then 24 hours. 18,000ft total ascent. Current record 38km in just 16 hours. We're going for 102km in less than 24."

Like a runaway autocue, within minutes I receiving back a load of responses

Ben 'Bobski Barnicles' an ex Royal Marine simply replied back with a thumbs up.

Andy Minshull wrote "Sounds mega mate!! Yeah sure i'll go for it. Cheers bro."

Mick Penfold said, "you had me at never been done before.."

James Skinner, "Sounds like 6 massive hill reps in a day - no sleep - good company."

    Fuck..!

With this new found confidence, I wrote them further...

'The Kinsmen Regiment is organisation. A movement. A brotherhood. An ideology that is prepared to sacrifice itself so that others may gain...

We complete impossible tasks. To demonstrate what others believe can’t be accomplished, can be.

And for those of you that are on this first journey, I look forward to walking through Hell with you…

…because on the other side of Hell, the pain you will have gone through, will raise enough money to provide a warm bed and a loving family (kinsmen) that every homeless ex-soldier deserves…'

    That's my intention...

    So far so good.

My point. Never listen to naysayers, especially your mind because as just proved, there really are people that will sacrifice themselves for your cause...
