On Christmas Day Kirsten Hawksey sadly passed away after being diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia just 4 weeks earlier on November 27.

Kirsten was only 23-years-old and had a promising life ahead of her with her 15-month-old daughter Penelope, who she idolised.

After noticing some unexplained bruising on her legs, which she initially thought was nothing serious, doctors told her and her family the devastating news that she had leukaemia.

Kirsten was determined to fight this disease & carry on her young life with her Daughter Penelope & her family, Kirsten’s last Facebook post on 3rd December was to raise awareness and encourage others not to ignore symptoms.

But, sadly after contracting a lung infection Kirsten suffered a bleed on the brain and on Christmas Day the family had to make the heartbreaking decision to turn off her life support machine.

Since Kirsten’s death her family have had so many messages of support and have been overwhelmed by the response after her story was shared.

So many people have asked if there is anything in place in order to make donations, which is why the decision has been made to set up a just giving page.
