Story

Luke's Extra Mile is a great charity very close to my heart that is supporting children with disabilities. It was set up by my good friends Beth and Lorcan, and Lorcan's MBA colleagues, after their son Luke was born with Cerebral Palsy due to congenital CMV. Luke is a wonderful little boy, full of cheeky smiles, who show's phenomenal determination for such a young little fella, this charity embodies his attitude to go out and grab life by the horns. They take on extra ordinary feats to raise money to help other children facing similar challenges to Luke; last year Lorcan and his colleagues ran three marathon's in three days and this year they will be cycling from Dublin to Galway!

My challenge isn't quite so spectacular but I have been wanting to try a triathlon for a while now and even signed up for one just before Seb arrived in our life in pregnancy form bringing with him hyperemesis which firmly put triathlon plans on hold! Now there are no excuses and I will be attempting the York Super Sprint Triathlon on July 15th, which is the perfect opportunity to raise money for a worthwhile cause. So if you'd like to help support children affected my disabilities and marvel at just how red faced a pale short bird can go, please give generously and I promise to post plenty of photos!!!

p.s. If you'd like to know more about CMV and hear a bit more about Luke's story, you can follow Luke's Extra Mile on twitter here Luke's Extra Mile; (RCN) 20165161@MileLukes or facebook here https://b-m.facebook.com/lukeextramile/
