We're raising money for a social enterprise called The Ootsider by taking part in the South Queensferry Raft Race - because we're so at home on the water!
The organisation creates customised Sleeping Coats which it gives to rough sleepers in the UK.
If we can raise £1000 then we can supply 10 coats to some of the most vulnerable people in society. This is not charity – it’s a commitment to dignity, and a belief in fair access to warmth and protection for all.
The Ootsider's mission goes beyond providing essential outdoor wear; it’s about community integration - bringing people together to foster greater understanding.
They're trying, in a small way, to create connections that strengthen the fabric of our communities, making them more compassionate, inclusive, and resilient.
If we have to humiliate ourselves in a raft then so be it!
