I've raised £1500 to Help Mark Mather get his HSCT treatment

Ben Nevis in Scotland, is the highest mountain in the British Isles. Standing at 1,345 metres (4,411 ft) above sea level, it is at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands, close to the town of Fort William.
I am going to conquer it in June with some great friends:
We are raising funds for Mark Mather who has MS to get to Mexico for HSCT treatment - this was recently in the news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-43435868 and we have already raised £16,000, only another £25,000 to go :)
In 2008 Mark Mather was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, since his initial diagnosis, I think its fair to say that the MS has progressed to the point where now Mark struggles to get about and do things that people take for granted.
We have been looking into the treatment with our own NHS however sadly Mark doesn't meet the criteria currently for the treatment. SO after a great deal of research we have found a place in Mexico who do the treatment.
The treatment will involve Mark going to Mexico for 28 days and having chemotherapy and stem cell harvesting and replanting, in the hope that it will reboot his immune system and give him some quality of life.
If we don't do this, based on Marks current prognosis this could mean that mark will potentially end up with a high level of disability and be unable to actively live his life to his full potential.
Our boys Oliver and Lucian who are 8 and 5 want their Daddy to be able to walk with them, play with them and do all the things a regular Daddy can do, Marks and I want this too.
There is no cure for MS, this is the next best thing. I know that those of you who know Mark, know what a fantastic man he is, he would do anything for anyone, he is a genuine, friendly, caring and loving Friend, Father, Son and Partner. He just wants a chance to live his life the way he thought he would.
We are so very lucky to have fantastic friends and family and feel positive that the collective goodwill and love of us all can make this happen!
A heart felt thank you for all you do and will do to support us - it means so much.
