Story

Serena is a caring single mum. She has three children and her current living conditions are appalling. Whilst caring for her children she is also a dementia carer. She is one of the kindest and sensitive people I know. She lives in a house in a community that terrorise her and her children. She has put up with this treatment for years, never retalliating and always staying strong for her children. The housing association that she is a tenant with have said that they can only help her once she has cleared the arrears on her account. She has been paying above her weekly rent for some time to clear this. But there is still £380.00 outstanding. I figure that if Serena continues to pay at the amount she is currently paying it will take her another 38 weeks to clear the arrears. This is unnaceptable. Examples of how Serena has been abused in her community are children randomly running through her house calling her names if her door is unlocked and pushing things through her letter box and calling her names if her door is locked. Calling out insults, knocking on the windows, throwing things at the house etc etc. Unfortunately the parents of these children do nothing to stop them. No one deserves to live in this way, but Serena definitely does not. She has a hard demanding job, sometimes with long shifts and two of her children are in college, one about to start secondary school. This is a testament to Serena's love and care of her children in such difficult surroundings. She puts so much into making them feel safe and loved. Serena is reluctant to call the police because she fears repercussions for her and her children. As soon as the arrears are paid we can start to put more pressure on the landlord to help Serena out of this hell. So please help. We are only asking for the arrears to be paid. I hope soon that we can support Serena with the cost of moving to a home where she will be safe and happy and her children can continue to thrive.
