I've raised £600 to build eco-friendly infrastructures from recycled materials, teach/tutor children in English, implementing water and conservation projects.

Hey! My name is Kirsty McKinney and I am fundraising for Growth International Volunteer Excursions (GIVE). GIVE sends volunteers abroad and focuses on assisting, empowering and educating local communities in sustainable development. In particular I will be going to Thailand to live with the hill-tribe villages of Muang Khong at the end of June 2018. I will be directly involved in building eco-friendly educational infrastructures out of plastic materials, teaching and tutoring local children in the community English, implementing water projects to provide clean water and assisting in environmental conservation projects (Elephant Reintroduction Program in the Karen hill-tribe village of Ba Kao Lam).
By going to this country and helping develop their environment it opens up so many opportunities for the village and I would love to be a part of it. This type of work is crucial for the survival and development of these rural areas. GIVE operates under the ideology that 'true sustainable growth is achieved through the development of social and human capital' and I cannot wait to be a part of this process (though I am a bit nervous).
I would greatly appreciate it if you donated to this cause and for me to serve in Thailand in 2018 I have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time (all donations need to be in by April)! Your contribution will go directly to GIVE causes such as materials and costs associated with the infrastructure projects, water and environmental conservation without which volunteering would be impossible. And also help go towards various things like accommodation and food for me.
Along side this page I'm raising money on my depop account from selling clothes and shoes etc so feel free to visit that @kirstymckinney 🤓
