I've raised £1000 to support the Welsh blood service. We also aim to fundraise 50 blood donations.

The loss of a parent is difficult at any age. Unfortunately for my sister and I this came at the age of just 25 and 20.
Our amazing father was taken from us at the age of 42. He had been a diabetic since the age of 25. Years of this disease had caused his liver to scar and in 2016 we were informed that he had the on set of liver disease. Health care professions had encouraged time for the liver to heal itself however our dad became ill very quickly with frequent trips in and out of hospital until it was decided a liver transplant was required. Our dad soon became too ill to be able to go through with the operation and eventually all his organs shut down and on the 1st December 2017 he sadly passed away.
During many of his trips in and out of hospital our dad had lost significant amounts of blood, which resulted in many blood transfusions. He was given 20+ pints of blood during his stay in hospital which allowed us an extra month of time to spend with him. And for that we are eternally grateful. It is for this reason we have decided to fundraise for the Welsh Blood Service! We are going to run the Swansea Half Marathon (June 2018), the Cardiff Half Marathon (October 2018) and a full marathon in 2019.
Whilst we are grateful for any money donation no matter how big or small we are also asking for volunteers to give blood to such a worthy cause. If you are willing to donate blood in memory of our dad please private message me and I can make arrangements for this to happen.
Lets give blood to save lives and give families additional time with their loved ones!
