Story
On the 15th October 2017, I will be running the Manchester half marathon (13 miles of pain and agony) in a bid to raise money for a gau shala (cow shelter) in Savar Kundla, Gujarat, India.
The hypocricy of India: Cows are considered sacred and holy by the majority of the population. One would be forgiven for thinking that their quality of life would exceed that of cows elsewhere. However, what this has resulted in is a situation where cows are left to roam the streets, feeding on the rubbish that people throw away. They become malnourished and skinny and often develop disease that leads to their death.
By donating money towards this cow shelter, you can give the cows a home to stay with enough food, clean water, medicines and any surgery that they may require.
Everyone that works for the cow shelter are volunteers so 100% of the money will go towards the welfare of the animals.
