Cornet is a very special horse, he retired from the Household Cavalry a couple of years ago and travelled to Scotland to join his old Cavalry buddy Unicorn who retired here with us some 12 years ago. Cornet is 21 years old and Unicorn is 31. They have an amazing bond and are never far apart. It was so nice to be able to reunite them. Cornet is undergoing tests currently as he is losing protein. He has had several tests carried out so far and the problem appears to be located in his small intestine. Neither Unicorn or Cornet can be insured due to age and ongoing issues and I have self funded their treatment and given them the best possible care and will continue to do so. They are very much loved members of the family. Unfortunately, I have run out of funds to have a scan and other tests done, as this month alone I have spent £2000 (not an exaggeration in any way - I can provide the bills) for ongoing issues. The reason I have turned to crowd funding is to see if anyone could make a donation, however small, to help fund the much needed further investigations that Cornet will need. Anyone that has horses will understand completely the cost of this. My aim is to set up a fb page for Cornet and Unicorn so that anyone who is interested can see how they are getting on. These boys are so special and deserve to be able to live a long happy retirement together, we just need a little help for Cornet to hopefully allow this to happen as I would worry very much for Unicorn if anything were to happen to his old friend as they are so devoted to each other.
