Weʼve raised £830 to help replace Anthony Evan's backpack and contents after it was blown away by the helicopter whilst he was aiding Emily's rescue.

    Story

Anthony Evans, who served in the military for 20 years including time as medic in Afghanistan, was instrumental in helping keep Emily warm, stable and into the Coast Guard helicopter after her 30m fall on Snowdonia. She landed on a small ledge with head, arm and spinal injuries which meant the rescue was precarious and took over 2.5 hours, throughout which Anthony and the men that were with him stayed with Emily. Unfortunately the downdraft meant that his backpack, with all of his rescue and safety kit worth £500, was blown away and lost.

We want to help replace this all for him in a small gesture of thanks for his irreplaceable actions. But also so he can carry on these expeditions and go on to help more people! So we thought instead of buying flowers (that hospitals don't allow on wards) Emily wouldn't mind if everyone donated towards the cost of a new bag and rescue kit.

Anthony runs a company 'Adventures with Heroes' that leads injured veterans who are attempting to rebuild their lives by providing bespoke adventurous events and courses to the general public. He was on a final expedition with such a group when they found Emily and both Paul and Lee contributed massively and also have our heartfelt thanks. This is the website if you want to find out more about the amazing work he and his wife do: http://www.adventureswithheroes.co.uk/

Please share privately with anyone who you think might want to donate. If we surpass the value of the kit we will discuss in the Facebook page the best way of using any extra donations.
