I've raised £25000 to Fund Obstetric Fistula Surgery in Uganda

Obstetric fistula is a horrible consequence of very prolonged obstructed childbirth which leaves women completely incontinent of urine and sometimes faeces. The Fistula Centre at Kitovu Mission Hospital in Uganda, founded by the late Sr Maura Lynch MMM, is one of the few places where women can go to be cured. I'm one of about a dozen visiting surgeons who perform this life-transforming surgery on these unfortunate women.
The women are usually penniless and need us to support their travel to the centre as well as feeding and accommodating them for the month or so it takes to treat and rehabilitate them. The surgeons all pay for their own travel and expenses and bring what supplies and equipment we can but we need about £250 (€300) per patient to look after them during their stay. One of the operating tables we use is broken so we urgently need to replace it so that the surgeries can continue.
Sources of funding are drying up, putting this valuable work in jeopardy, so please donate what you can to help give these women back their dignity and health. You can see from the video below what joy it brings.
