Story
Kits for kids project 2023 is a co run organisation founded by Mark Andrews of SESKU and Hemsworth Community Scale Model Club & Luke Carswell of Black Rifle Model Worx ((UK). 2 of the countries premier scale modelling community groups. The aim is to raise £5000 by the end of November 2023 which will enable the project to purchase, store & distribute Introductory scale model kits to disadvantaged children across 5 areas in the UK. Aided by volunteers the project have enlisted the help of Eifion Wyn to project manage Wales, Modellers United to project manage Scotland and Clive Brewer to project manage the South of England. Mr Carswell will project manage the Midlands with the team at Black Rifle and Mark & Angela will project manage West Yorkshire with the team at SESKU. The role of the project manager is to choose 2 or 3 organisations in their area, such a youth groups, children's hospital wards, local radio stations etc
who would benefit from our charity run and organise delivery of the kits we obtain, taking photos and video to share across their social media platforms, to showcase the projects work. Partnering with the UK's longest established and best known scale model company, Airfix the team will be using 1/72 quick build kits (no glue or paint required) and 1/72 starter kits, where glue and paint are required. The aim is to have the kits ready for distribution across the 5 areas by early December, so the chosen organisations will have time to giftwrap and deliver to the children. All the project managers and associates are running the project without personal benefit, or financial gain, donating so their time for free. Year one, if successful will hopefully establish an annual drive with other areas, clubs, and volunteers coming on board to make the project a truly national event. Please help the drive in the coming months by donating as much as you can, and let's get some KITS FOR KIDS !
