Story
This summer I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel to Uganda in order to work alongside the students at Kira Farm, an organisation that is supported by the Amigos charity. As part of my trip I have promised to raise £200 for the charity.
To encourage you to help me to raise the money to donate to this charity, I will be living without my mobile phone for a week prior to my visit. That means seven days without Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat and Facebook! It is not going to be easy for a millennial teen like myself, but it's a small price to pay in comparison to the harsh lives lived by the people I will be working alongside.
Kira Farm is a development centre, that helps 40 young people to acquire life changing skills over the course of a year. The students, have all grown up in extreme poverty, some were orphaned by HIV, and others were forced to fight as child soldiers. At Kira Farm they are taught practical skills that help them to build better futures for themselves, their families and their communities. The difference that the programme makes can literally last a lifetime.
Please support me if you can, thank you.
