Kitty Kat Rescue - Mirabeau & Merlin - Our FIP boys - we desperately need your help.

Diagnosed just before Christmas Mirabeau & Merlin suddenly went downhill a month in their new home. Loss of appetite, being very withdrawn these boys certainly won't the crazy kittens we rehomed. Tests were carried out at wonderful vets Linkswood in Halsted. A series of bloods & scan which showed they had a build up of fluid in their abdomen. Leaving us with no choice but to treat as we wasn't prepared to look at the other option.

They are now on GS-441254 which is an 84 day antiviral medication. Which has shown promising results fighting FIP. Without this treatment Mirabeau & Merlin wouldn't survive, unfortunately FIP is an extremely brutal illness that affects 1% of cat's. We simply didn't hesitate giving our boys the best fighting chance possible. We owe them a chance, like all our babies we never give up !
As you can imagine this has put our finances in a bit of a downward spiral with huge vet bills coming out our ears atm. With each bottle of medication costing £256.00 per brother, our costs are running into the thousands. We know you can't put a price on a life & this really is a miracle drug. But it is coming at a cost we simply are struggling to cover. Especially with 37 other cats & kittens currently in our care. We desperately need to not only cover these outstanding invoices to help these boys get the best chance of living a full long life. But insuring our survival as a rescue. We have work too hard & too long to say goodbye 💔

Mirabeau & Merlin are doing amazingly on this medication. And have between them another 4 - 6 wks remaining before more bloods & another scan is done. Each bottle is lasting just over 2 wks and at £256.00 a time the maths is easy 😪
