Story
More people in Kent are continuing to rely on food banks as the cost-of-living crisis places increasing pressure on families and individuals. Across the UK, food banks in the Trussell Trust network distributed more than 2.6 million emergency food parcels in the last year alone - equivalent to one every 12 seconds - including over 900,000 for children.
Here in Kent, local food banks are also seeing demand continue to rise. Deal Area Foodbank & Pantry reported a 53% increase in food parcels distributed compared to the previous year, while The Rainbow Centre helped feed nearly 10,000 adults and children last year.
Despite the incredible work of volunteers, many food banks are struggling to keep shelves stocked as demand grows and donations come under increasing pressure.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Clive Emson Auctioneers to collect and deliver as many “Tonnes of Tins” as possible to help Kent foodbanks.
Between Monday 6th July 2026 and Friday 24th July 2026, we’re aiming to collect as many non-perishable food items as possible to support 19 food banks and organisations across Kent - more than ever before.
Deliveries will begin from Monday 3rd August 2026.
Every donation will help local food banks continue supporting people in crisis across our community.

Approximately 2,400 tins (420g each) make up one tonne. Last year, thanks to your generosity, we collected an incredible 11.1 tonnes of donations to support 16 food banks. This year, we’re aiming to go even further by reaching 19 food banks.
Can we reach 12 tonnes this year?

Donate a small amount of money here on our JustGiving page We will purchase tins of food, supplies and more with Sainsbury's, Bybrook, Ashford.
