Following a diagnosis of Stage 4 Triple Negative Breast Cancer, I have been campaigning to get the 12 signs of breast cancer in the public domain in Wales.

In 2014 I presented myself to my GP believing I had one sign of breast cancer - a lump. It was believed at this point to be a cyst as no breast cancer in family, growing fast, painful, under 40 - all reasons to suspect it was not cancer and all of them wrong.

After seeing the Know Your Lemons poster I was astonished to realise that I had 4 signs when I first presented to my GP. Never were they discussed - a raised vein, thickening, change in size. Although I was referred within a week it took a further 9 weeks to be seen by a breast specialist. My GP clearly did not know all 12 signs and as such did not push for an immediate appointment. I truly believe if I had known these signs I would have insisted on an immediate referral which may have meant I'd not become stage 4.

https://worldwidebreastcancer.org kindly gave me permission to use their artwork and campaign to raise awareness in Wales. I felt that the poster would need the NHS logo in order for people to view it as an authentic campaign. A collaboration between Tenovus Cancer Care and Worldwide Breast Cancer Org has enabled us to not only get endorsement by Vaughan Gething and NHS WALES, but to get posters to the 500 satelite GP practises in Wales.

A great start...but we need more! We need to get posters in schools, colleges, workplaces, hospitals, service stations, changing rooms... the list goes on. So we need your help!

There are two ways you can help...
