Story
At heart, Nic Osborne was always a teacher and extremely passionate about introducing children to sport, especially rugby football, a game he played for many years. His heart and soul were in his Midland’s rugby club, Kings Norton RFC, who are based at Hopwood in S. W. Birmingham, where he played for many years and successfully captained the first team in season1980-81. Over the years there were many players at the club who had been taught at school by Nic and introduced to join KNRFC. Later some of their children were also taught by Nic. When Nic moved to Cornwall he missed the involvement in rugby and soon founded Camelford Rugby Club, becoming their President until his recent untimely death.
Kings Norton have been offered a once in a life time opportunity to expand their grounds by purchasing a much needed additional 6.3 acres of adjacent land. This land will allow the clubs Junior section "The RHINOS" to expand its operations at all age group levels up to Under 16's. It will also provide the space to arrange many more festivals involving local schools and rugby clubs.
Nic's family invite donations in his memory towards this project, named "The Field of Dreams". A permanent plaque to Nic's memory will be erected in the clubhouse to record his family's generous gesture towards his rugby club's acquisition.
