Story
🐾This isn’t just a fundraiser for a dog.
It’s a fundraiser for Kona — our gentle, tail-wagging teammate, comfort companion, and a much-loved part of the 4 Community Trust family.

Kona has been with us since she was a tiny pup. A black cockapoo with a calm soul and bright eyes, she’s trained as a therapy dog and has touched more lives than we can count.
Whether it’s sitting beside someone nervously awaiting a job interview, or lifting the mood in our children’s clubs with cuddles and play, Kona simply knows when she’s needed — and how to help.

She belongs to Jo and Julie — two of our amazing team leaders — but really, she belongs to all of us.
💔What’s Happened?
On Monday 7th April, Kona was rushed to the vet after suddenly losing the ability to walk. Scans showed a tumour pressing on her spinal cord. She needed emergency surgery and specialist treatment — and fast.
As of today (10th April), she’s in surgery. She’s still in hospital, and every extra day adds to the cost. She may need ventilation, rehab, and ongoing care.
💸We Need to Raise £10,000
The total cost of Kona’s surgery, intensive vet hospital care, and future treatment is estimated at around £10,000.
We’re asking our friends, community, and anyone who knows the power of a dog’s love — to help us cover these vital costs. Every penny raised will go directly towards:
• Emergency spinal surgery
• Specialist vet hospital care
• Recovery, physio, and future mobility needs
If Kona has ever made you smile — or if you just believe in the healing power of animals — please donate whatever you can
Kona's Insuance has covered £3,000 of the care she has needed, but unfortunatly this is coming to an end.

🧡 What If We Raise More?
If we’re lucky enough to raise more than we need, any leftover funds will go straight to J’s Pantry — our food support programme helping families across Sandwell. Just like Kona, it’s all about care, compassion, and community.
📸 Follow Her Journey
We’ll post regular updates (and “pupdates!”) of Kona’s progress — and we’ll be sharing some of our favourite photos of her doing what she does best: comforting, connecting, and bringing joy.
