Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Hi there! :) My name is Konstantina Karamintzou. I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my story. I promise you I'll try to keep it as short as possible. I am a 20 year old girl from Greece and I'm currently in the second year of my Psychology Degree in the University of Crete. I always loved helping others and that's why I became a psychologist. I know it sounds cliche but it is true. This year I was accepted to the 4 week SLV Bali Mental Health Placement in July.
SLV is a UK based organisation that provides students and graduates with hands-on experience abroad in the mental health sector. When we first arrive in Bali we will receive training and after that we will be working in a psychiatric hospital helping and interacting with individuals who suffer from various mental illnesses. We will also help students and locals learn English and work in numerous schools for people with special needs. Volunteers live with local families in traditional Balinese villages.
The cost of the trip is roughly 4,000$ which includes flights, travel insurance, social visa, jabs, spending money and of course the placement fees. I am only fundraising for the Placement fees and I will raise the rest of the moneyby starting a part-time job. During my placement I will keep you updated by posting photos and writing about my experience. The SLV Bali Mental Health Placement is a dream coming true for me and I would be really grateful if you can help me meake it come true. Remember : every bit counts!
