Konstanty - a 13 year old boy is fighting for his life!

A note from his mother, Ewa:

Until 4th November 2022 Konstanty was a smiley, humorous school student with his whole life ahead of him. Nobody expected that his life would change so suddenly.

Although he was always a strong and healthy kid, he suddenly suffered a prolonged period of vomiting (approx 2 weeks) and, as a result, was taken to Poznan hospital with suspected appendicitis. That morning, Konstanty started seeing the world in grey…

Appendicitis was soon ruled out as the cause of his symptoms and the doctors started searching further into the problem. Sadly, our worst fears were confirmed and we had to face the most unbearable diagnosis - a brain tumour.

As an emergency case, Konstanty was transported in a helicopter to the Children’s Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw, but only to face more bad news… “a 4cm brainstem tumour which is inoperable, but we will do everything possible to extend your son’s life…”.

We, the family, are also going to do everything we can to SAVE his life! We are consulting his case with clinics, hospitals and specialists around the world and are awaiting their opinions and recommendations for treatment options. Konstanty has already had the biopsy, but is requiring constant care and rehabilitation.

We are begging for your help and support in financing the treatment he needs.

Not only will Konstanty need long-term care from paediatric oncology teams in Warsaw, but his self-employed mother is currently unable to work as she has had to travel across the country to be by his side and care for him. His sister is in the care of other family members so she can continue her schooling.

We are asking for donations to support Konstanty, his mother and his sister throughout this difficult time, and to relieve some of the financial pressures they are facing.
