Story

Hi, I’m Kourosh, and I’m passionate about protecting the environment and tackling the challenges our planet faces.

I’m on a mission to raise £1,000 to support local and global charities in educating and empowering young people on sustainability.

Like many others, I feel deeply concerned about the damage being done by climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss and I don’t want to sit back and do nothing. I believe that education, science and youth action are some of the most powerful tools we have to create real change in our world.

That’s why this August and September, I’m running 100km to raise awareness and funds for two incredible charities working on the front lines of the climate and nature crisis. If we equip the next generation with the knowledge and tools to act, we can build a future that’s greener, fairer, and more sustainable for everyone.

This running challenge is part of a bigger campaign: the GYC 1,000km Challenge—a global movement where young people commit to walking, running, cycling or paddling 1,000km collectively, raising funds and awareness for climate action.

All funds raised will go directly to the Global Youth Council on Science, Law and Sustainability and the UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre, who are working to empower youth, promote education about sustainability solutions and mobilise science to protect nature.

I’ll be sharing updates on my 100km run throughout August, and I’d love for you to follow along or even get involved.

Thank you so much for visiting my page. By donating, you’re helping to drive real, selfless change in the world.
