Our school was founded 6 years ago and the premises were brand new with a fantastic roof playground for our children. Over the years, as we welcomed more children to the school, Friends of KPA have been working with the school to purchase equipment for the roof, to enrich the experience for the children.

In our next phase of the improvements, we are looking to fund raise to create a mural on the walls of the large playground. The works would take place during the summer 2022 holidays and would be ready to welcome the children in September. The walls at the moment are showing signs of aging (and play) and will be thoroughly washed and repaired, in order to create a wonderful canvas. We are looking to involve our children in the design of the mural by getting them to create stencils that will be incorporated into the overall design.

Additionally, we are also working with a mosaic artist to organize a week long residency in the school to create an artwork that would sit at the entrance in the school. This would be hands on work where the children would not just design the art, but complete the mosaic with the help of the artist!

All of this needs funding! Friends of KPA would use the money raised for the following:

- Artist design for the Roof mural, including the children's stencils

- Roof mural artist who will paint the walls and complete the actual mural

- Mosaic artist fee

- Supplies needed to create mosaic

We do not have the full costings just yet, but would welcome any donations for this exciting project! If we raise more than we need, all remaining proceeds would go to Friends of KPA to fund our regular events.

Finally, Friends of KPA would look to organize a Roof party in September, for all of our children, parents and carers to view the new mural and enjoy the new surroundings!
