Story

On the morning of 28th June 2022 I began having slurred speech, extreme abdominal pain, a temperature & began vomiting blood. I arrived at A&E and was immediately taken to resus where I major haemorrhaged and tests showed that I had Sepsis and pnuemonia. My mum was asked to contact the rest of the family to come to the hospital as they were unsure that I’d survive the night. I spent a few hours in IRH Intensive Care before being transferred to QEUH Intensive Care where I spent the next few days. Due to the severity of the major haemorrhage, my blood pressure dropped critically low which has caused Kidney Failure & Liver Failure. For 4.5 months i remained in HDU Renal (4A) at the QEUH and I still remain in multiple organ failure and require dialysis 3 times a week to keep me alive. I am currently awaiting a kidney transplant. Today, my family and I are eternally grateful to every staff member involved in my care in the most terrifying time of our lives. To the staff at 4A who saved my life multiple times and provided my family with the most amazing support for 4.5 months. And to my new family at Inverclyde Royal Hospital dialysis unit (N North) who keep me alive on a daily basis and are just the most precious nurses and consultants. They go above and beyond every day and i am alive today because of them. Therefore, my family and I would love to give back thanks and raise funds for these departments. Any donation at all is so appreciated. Thank you x
