    Story

Please help the Alice Grange Care Home make getting old a bit more fun and engaging. We have a wonderful activity team and would like to enhance what we already do with something that can be used by all. We would like to purchase an interactive video floor system. This video system can be used by everyone, even those in a wheelchair by moving a hand or a foot over the image projected onto the floor. You can watch the fish swim away from the movement you made; answer questions to quizzes; make music by waving over a projected keyboard. With this system we can provide one to one stimulation for those that find group activities overwhelming and can enable deep relaxation for someone at a time of need. It plays music, films, quizzes and fun games. Whilst we were trialling the system I played football with a resident who was in a wheelchair and others paddled in the realistic floor projected image of the rippling water. We played splat the tomato games and I got beaten (all too easily) at the quiz.
This is a powerfully emotionally wonderful piece of equipment that we truly feel has the potential to engage all of our residents regardless of their capacity or physical ability. Lets make life a little better! Fun for all.....
