I'm raising £2000 to preserve Gurkha history at the Gurkha Memorial Museum Nepal

Story

I am raising £2,000 by taking on one of the toughest races in the world the Everest Marathon.

The Everest Marathon is an annual high-altitude race held on 29 May from Everest Base Camp, commemorating the historic first ascent of Mount Everest by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953.

Last year, I completed the full marathon in 7 hours and 22 minutes. This year, I am running again but this time, for a cause that means a great deal to me.

I am raising funds for the Gurkha Memorial Museum Nepal, located in Pokhara. The museum was established to preserve and honour the history, bravery, and global legacy of Gurkha soldiers. It showcases the contributions of Gurkhas who have served in the Nepalese, Indian, and British Armies, as well as the Singapore Police.

Run by dedicated volunteers and staff, the museum is recognised as one of Pokhara’s key cultural destinations. It relies on ticket sales, memberships, and donations to continue its important work and to keep Gurkha history alive for future generations.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference.

Thank you so much for your support.
