Story

Following a successful 2017 representing England at The European Championships in Liverpool as a Veteran 3rd-Dan Blackbelt in Taekwon-do where Lahsen won 2 gold medal's in sparring and patterns and a further 2 silver medals in the veteran team.

Lahsen has gone on to represent England in The European Championships in Estonia 2018 where he won a further 2 Golds for the veteran team, a silver in sparring and a bronze in patterns.

He is now focused on the upcoming World championships held in Minsk In Belarus this August.

Lahsen first started Taekwon-do in 1984 and continued up until 1991 and then restarted in 2003 after having his family. Lahsen's inspiration and love for the sport came from watching a Bruce Lee film with his Dad. Seeing that such a small man could have so much drive and power and achieve such indomitable spirit and from there on thought this could be him due to the similarities in appearances. Lahsen's biggest regret was stopping in 1991 but this was out of his control and through no fault of his own.

Taekwon-do has made Lahsen the person that he is today and has helped him in his personal life outside the Dojang. This has given him the confidence to speak out loud and confront those who are wrong.

Lahsen recently started his own school Chaldon Taekwon-do in October 2017 to teach children and young adults

Lahsen's dedication means that he trains three to four times a week and travels over 100 miles each way to Swindon to attend squad training at least once per month. Lahsen has the full support of his family especially his wife whom has adjusted the way she lives to compromise with his commitments. Whilst Taekwon-do is Lahsen's passion, without Lucy's support It would be difficult for Lahsen to achieve what he has to date.

As a devoted family man, Lahsen has 3 children, Maria (20) and Sofia (15) and the youngest Adam (12), They are his motivation to perform and it is this time with his family that is sacrificed in order to pursue his commitment to his sport and country.

Lahsen is a very giving person whether at work for the AA where he works long shifts helping others in need or giving back to the community by passing on his knowledge, skill and love for the sport and passing this on to the next Generation of Taekwon-do practitioners.

With your generosity and Support, Lahsen is looking to raise £5,000 to cover all expenses and costs in order to keep this journey going.
