    Story

    Hi everyone,

I don't usually do things like this but as winter is upon us and it’s starting to get cold; I’m left constantly thinking about a man named Jim who I know and who is homeless.

For anyone living on the Isle of Dogs you may have seen him around Island Gardens train station and he often sleeps at the bus stop opposite at night. He is such a lovely man and has nowhere to go during the festive season.

I have set up this page to try to get some money together for Jim to make what is a sad situation a little better. I would love to be able to buy him the basics to keep him warm this winter and to be able to give him some shelter and to have a proper dinner.

Something to note is that unlike some homeless, he is not a drinker or anything else and is overwhelmed with gratitude every time I stop to give him some food. He never begs for money and has no idea I am doing this for him!

Let’s keep this lovely man warm for Christmas - anything anyone can spare would be gratefully received.

    Thanks in advance.

Thank you everyone for your kindness. I'm so glad I set this page up for Jim as its made a lot of awareness of his situation. I will use this money for essentials for Jim, including a Nokia phone to keep in contact, a shopping trolley (instead of an asda trolley), thermals/clothes to wrap up so he can open Xmas day. Any left over money i will give to Jim so he can do what he pleases with it over the festive period. Once again thank you everyone for your donations and sharing the awerness. Thanks xxxxxxx

Thank you for doing such a wonderful thing to help Jim. I have never met him personally but I think we all know a 'Jim' somewhere nearby who is in need of help. Amazing.
