Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
For the past couple of years Lakeside Youth Theatre has taken part in the terrific National Theatre Connections project. This project offers young people the chance to work on a brand new play, learn and develop skills and perform at a regional partner theatre festival. During the festival, they watch and support other young companies work.
The young people enjoy the experience tremendously. The Lakeside Youth Theatre welcome all children, no matter what background or any additional support they may require, and for this reason we purposely charge a small fee so that no-one misses out the chance to take part in this wonderful project. As a result we have incurred a significant overspend in our budget and in order to take part again, we need to raise some money.
There's no doubt that the children taking part in Connections benefit enormously from the experience. Be that making new friends, learning new performance skills, growing in confidence, learning technical knowledge or gaining an understanding of the world we are living in. They also learn a lot about themselves and the kind of person they are. They grow as individuals and as a collective. Youth Theatre serves as a platform for them to share their own ideas. We want to continue providing this opportunity for them, so please, any donation you can make to ensure we continue to take part is greatly appreciated.
