I'm Lancia and I've won 2-0 against cancer 💪

It all started in the spring of 2013, when they diagnosed me with hodgkin lymphoma. As a 15 year old girl it was a huge trauma to lose my gorgeous long hair and gain quite a bit of weight due to treatment. This has really shaken my confidence as a teenager. Luckily, I had my family with me to support me and I stayed positive which helped me get through it faster than I anticipated.

After the treatments, I hated going out because I felt like people were just staring at me, because of my short hair and my puffy face.
However, when I went to Bátor Tábor everything has changed. The translation is 'Brave Camp' and it's a magical place for children who have beaten cancer or are fighting a life threatening illness. This camp is my Wonderland, where nobody is judging you, everyone is the kindest person in the whole world.

Unfortunately, just when my hair started touching my shoulders the doctors have found another tumour in the autumn of 2015. They adopted an even more aggressive chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy. As an 18 year old I was devastated to lose my hair and become chubby again, not to mention the fact that I had to miss nearly another year from school in the middle of my A-levels.

Having experienced what it's like to lose my teenage years I decided to challenge myself and raise money for 'Brave Camp' to help other children get their childhood back.

My challenge is to lose the weight I have gained during these treatments before Christmas. That is about 20 kg in 4 months and even though I like sports, the people who know me will testify that I am a huge foodie and hence this will be a massive challenge for me and appetite.
