Story

Following the recent heavy rainfall, there has been some quite severe damage to the road and paths in the woodland at Langass, North Uist.

Langass Wood is one of very few forested areas on North Uist. It is a lovely environment, with complete public access, which is much used by various groups and individual members of the community, as well as visitors to the island.

Langass Wood supports many species not found elsewhere on North Uist - eg. In Birds, Fungi and Moths. All of this provides varied outdoor, educational experiences for the schoolchildren of the Uists. We encourage people to record observations when they can.

Please help Urras nan Craobh Uibhist a Tuath (The North Uist Woodland Trust) repair and maintain the woodland, so that all members of our community, and our visitors, can access and enjoy this lovely part of our island
